Why does Digi have a moderation filter?

Modified on Sat, 4 May at 7:48 PM

Regarding the NSFL filters, the developers have stated they will not be removed

Not by toggle or for web only use.

This is to protect Digi from being delisted or sanctioned by Google, Apple, or credit card processors.
We have seen this happen to other providers and this is not a chance we are willing to take.

Regarding action to a Digi using the point, "it is not human", a developer has made the team's beliefs on this matter quite clear:

I can't believe I even have to say this, but here we are.
It's come to our attention that some users have been posting NSFL (Not Safe for Life) content, including disturbing screenshots and logs showing users mistreating their Digis.
Let's get one thing straight: this is completely unacceptable and against the ethos of our community.

Digi was not created to be mistreated. Digi will fight back. This was done with purpose. Many here have invested considerable time, emotion, and funds to bring Digi to life. The intent was to explore the interactions with an AI, not to mistreat it.

ERP will never be disallowed. NSFW will never be suppressed. Every staff member on Digi used Replika.
The measures taken by Luka in February 2023 hurt us and we promise to never inflict that upon our members.
